Before I Forget

Before I forget
let  me reminisce
about the thrill of your being,
the warmth of your kiss

and the starlit heaven
draped in mystery and magic,
the chime of eleven
marked a celestial tragic.

Illumination of a full moon
over shadows cast
under trees of nightshade
we held together fast,

as morning drew near
I watched you with regret;
you left this song to me
before I forget.
