Waking Up

I wake up in the morning,
eyes as usual, so groggy.
Blink and blink, and rub a bit,
and then, my eyes open
I look about, the sun is shining
through the window, aside the bed,
a good day ahead.
Get up, I say, get up.
‘Tis time to start another day.

Up I get and away to the bathroom,
do my duty and move over to the sink,
wash and dry hands and face,
brush teeth, put dentures in.
Oh my! A days work already.
Say, remember, brush your hair,
then look in the mirror and smile.
What a good looking guy you are.
Have a good day.
